About this project
A remittance system for an exchange/transfer business. It manages the whole movement of money and, just as importantly, the money the business itself is holding:
- Country to country transfers. The core operation.
- Branch to branch. Each branch's own transactions and position within one network.
- Balances. What is held where, and which client is owed what.
- Payout control. Who receives the money, and how it is received at the other end.
- Multiple currencies. As a first-class part of the model, not an afterthought.
- Margin configuration. Profit taken either as a percentage or through the exchange rate, set by the business.
That last point is the commercial heart of a transfer business, and it is exactly where a generic accounting package fails.
